Richard Anderson Photography | Classic

While there are a few "painterly" images in this collection, most of them are what people sometimes refer to as "straight" photographs. None of them is straight out of the camera: indeed all of them have been worked on to bring out the best in the photograph.

The pursuit of the image in a photograph started many years ago when I started processing my own films in a "wet" darkroom. Even in those days we worked hard to bring out the best in a photograph.

Creating a set of photographs is more than pointing the lens and clicking the shutter button. Creating images is something that I have been developing as a skill since my first camera at the age of five years old. But that doesn't mean I have stopped developing my skills: I would like to think that I continue to evolve as a photographer and if you watch this group of photographs over the coming months and years, you will be able to live the discoveries that I make right alongside me.

Here is a very small collection of more recent photographs. They are all for sale, but equally they might inspire you to say that you would like an image of something totally different. I would be delighted to work with you to create just the image you want.
